Overview:
The Leon Commission brought about significant changes in the regulations concerning health and safety in the mining industry. In terms of the Act the ultimate responsibility for the health and safety of those exposed to hazards in the mining industry lies with the owners of the mines and the people employed in their management structures, including training departments.

 
Who should attend?
The programme is designed for all employees who conduct training and who are involved in preparation, delivery, evaluation, recording and documentation of training.
Entry Requirements:
Learners need a minimum education level of NQF 3 with proficiency in English.
Certification:
This training programme is not yet accredited because suitable unit standards are not available. Delegates successfully completing the course will receive a certificate of completion.

Learning Outcomes:
All knowledge and skills acquired during the formal training course can be applied effectively on the job.
Lesson plans are written and utilised according to agreed standards.
The testing of competence is both reliable and valid.
Training documentation and records accurately reflect the application of all training.
Application of these has to be verified by an on-the-job audit.
