Overview:
Mentoring in South Africa has generally only been successful on a small scale as an individual initiative. One of the major problems in making it work effectively is a lack of mentorship skills. The critical need to develop and distribute skills throughout organisations has made mentoring a crucial priority. This applies particularly to learnerships where people gain skills largely in the workplace.

 

Who should attend?
The training is for front line/middle managers involved in the development and performance management of others.
Entry Requirements:
An NQF Level 4 education level with proficiency in reading and writing English.
Certification:

Diagnostic and formative assessments take place during and after learning and can be used in the summative assessment, which is via a portfolio of evidence 6-8 weeks after completion of the training. Learners will receive a certificate of competence with credits towards the following unit standards: 114215 & 117864.

Learning Outcomes:
Mentor a colleague.
To enhance the individual’s knowledge, skills, values and attitudes in a selected career path.
Action learning process which includes facilitated discussions, self-study and on-the-job practical implementation of skills, which can lead to portfolio development or an attendance certificate.

 *Formal assessment is conducted on request.
