Named after the Spurwing Geese or “ Wilde Makoue", the Maccauvlei Learning Academy, on the banks of the beautiful Vaal River, offers a unique training experience.


We are very proud of the fact that we have been awarded the ETDP Seta's Centre of Institutional Sectoral Occupational Excellence Award.

Our History:
•  1957 – Anglo American established a central training unit (CTU) at Maccauvlei, a farm on the banks of the Vaal River .
•  Maccauvlei has provided development and strategic solutions for more than 50 years.
•  The name Maccauvlei Training and Conference Centre was used for many years.
•  1 October 2006 – Maccauvlei Learning Academy (Pty) Ltd established. Anglo relinquished Maccauvlei through a management / employee buyout, with a 34% black shareholding.
